ORLANDO, Fla., March 23, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — PHOTO FILE, INC. and IMORTA HOLDINGS, LLC announce the coming release of Officially Licensed digital collectible NFTs of the legendary Ken Griffey, Jr., who played for the Seattle Mariners from 1989-1999 and 2009-2010. Combining the efforts of a world-renowned artist and the son of another pro baseball player, these one-of-a-kind digital collectibles are scheduled for release in the next few weeks. Once purchased, collectors may trade or sell to others, with ownership permanently recorded on the blockchain. Each will be minted on OpenSea and offered on the IMORTA website (https://imorta.com). Photo File and IMORTA collaborated with a variety of stakeholders to create and sell officially licensed, curated collections of NFTs.
To engage collectors of all levels, there will be several editions of Mr. Griffey, including 1-of-1, 1-of-10, 1-of-24, 1-of-100 and a 1-of-1000.
Each Limited-Edition artwork will feature varying compositions of Mr. Griffey, often known as “Swingman” and “The Kid,” including animation and sound. Pricing starts at around $60 USD. Along with the NFT, the winning bidder of the 1-of-1 edition will also receive an authentic autographed item such as a photo print or custom sneakers.
The artist, Clark Mitchell, has created works for iconic brands, including Star Wars, Disney, Lucas Arts, Coca-Cola, Time Magazine and ESPN Magazine – to name a few. Each piece was hand drawn in digital ink and animated by Clark’s son, Cameron Mitchell. Cameron is also an artist and has worked diligently to render the intricate animations for this project.
George Scott III is the son of Boston Red Sox legend George “Boomer” Scott, who played 14 seasons in Major League Baseball. As an IMORTA Co-Founder, the younger Scott said, “Working with a star like Griffey is an honor, he’s been enthusiastic since day one. His vision and focus on detail is what ultimately drove the creation of these collectibles.”
A portion of the Ken Griffey, Jr. NFT proceeds will be donated to the MLB/MLBPA Youth Baseball Charities.
“The Photo File brand has been synonymous with sports imagery since its founding in 1987,” said Don McCann, President of the Company. “Historically, Photo File has enjoyed success selling photographic prints, frames and canvas. In the 21st Century, NFTs are the next logical platform for our content. I can’t tell you how excited we are to have the legendary Ken Griffey, Jr. so involved in this project.”
Photo File owns a library of more than two million sports images and is a subsidiary of Globe Entertainment and Media Corp. (https://globecorp.co).
